Emirates will be upgrading EK203/204 from a Boeing 777-300ER to an A380 effective January 1, 2013. EK203/204 is the early morning arrival from Dubai with a late morning departure. Emirates currently operates the A380 to JFK on EK201/202.

Crazy. Anyone know how full these flights are? I wonder if it's a question of needing extra capacity or simply needing to do something with all the A380s they're getting.

When I flew on EK 380, both KJFK-OMDB & OMDB-KJFK sectors were completely full. The morning flight is since 1-2 years and probably already showing healthy load factors to justify the upgrade.
