    This is simply reprehensible. I also questioned NYCAviation's position on FaceBook - which they did not appreciate. But when a news source becomes a mouthpiece for the airline's own marketing department - buying hook, line and sinker into their logic - I will always take issue. There are days when I just wonder what is happening to this great industry.

    I have to agree with Phil and NYCA on this one. Nobody is forcing anyone to fly on Spirit. When I was in Michigan, my flight options back to NYC were very limited, and Spirit was one of those few options. Sometimes, their fare was several hundred dollars below Delta and American Eagle, even if I paid the bag fee. Long story short is that if you pay the bag fee up front on the website, you will not be paying $100. In the end, if you don't like the policies on Spirit, simply do not fly with them and pay the sometimes very high premium other airlines get.
