    New JP.net Policy - 1200px Photo Size

JP.net announced a new photo policy last night. All members will now be permitted to upload photos at a 1200px size limit, up from the current 1024x. You will still need approval to upload 1600px photos. 1024px photos are still acceptable, so you don't need to resize twice if you want to submit the same photo on A.net - or don't want to sweat over quality issues that may show in a larger photo...

Going forward, ALL members will now have a standard 1200px photo size limit, instead of the old limit of 1024px. As time has progressed, and photo equipment (and computer monitors, for that matter) have improved, 1200 has become much more of a mainstream resolution, and we're excited to allow all of our members to upload at this larger resolution going forward.

Those members with "large photo" upload approval will continue to enjoy the ability to upload up to 1600px resolution.

That's great for starters. Some folks don;t know but sharpening at 1024px is actually harder in some cases than doing so properly at higher resolutions (hint: aliasing) so it should make for better first time experiences. Also, with newer ULTRA MP cameras of late, more and more quality coming out of cameras naturally
