    JFK - 2/14/11

Spent a little time out at Firestone this afternoon. Warm enough, but very windy! Lots of sun for most of it, but we started seeing some clouds blow through. Had a brief, but very positive visit from one of Nassau's Finest (as noted in the Spotter Blotter thread). Here are a few highlights.

I've noticed more and more AA 737s around JFK of late - two within 45 minutes today.

I didn't add any new frames to my jetBlue collection, but this is a new tail for an old jet.

Speaking of my jetBlue collection, I went through some old photos last week. I found some aircraft that I didn't know I had - I thought I was missing about 12 jets that B6 had sold to foreign airlines. Turns out I had photos of all of them in B6 colors! I'm only missing 6 aircraft, all current, including an A320 they received on Friday.

Great shots Moose. Wish that LH A340 would have come in on 31R on Saturday. THey had her lined up on 31L and the light was way to horrible at that time to even attempt to snap of a shot of her.

Moose, next time I see you we need to talk about the JB collection :-) I started innocently PRACTICING on JBs and now I have a bunch. Need to have a plan/strategy if I am to get the entire fleet :-) thanks...

Manny, there is only one strategy to catch them all...Shoot everyone you see. You can always delete at home, but you cannot "rewind" an arrival because you ignored it.

Exactly - I didn't have a strategy. A couple of years ago, I was out shooting one day, and remarked "We must have seen the entire JetBlue fleet today!" That got me thinking, and I started going through my old shots - I don't delete anything! I had already caught about half the fleet (I pulled a list from Airfleets.com) I set up a spreadsheet, and when I get home, I go through what I shot. As I said above, I recently went through all my older shots (going back to 2005 or so) and found several I thought I was missing. I'm now close to having them all.

They aren't all A.net or JP quality, but I have them on my website here:

Thanks John, and moose, that's what I meant... I also shoot and don;t delete all my shots. If one shot out of 10 is good, it stays... if NO shots are good, ONE stays :-) I am more after recording a spot than A.net q per say, although I always strive for top quality, one can;t always get that given other factors.

So yeah, that was the question... you said spreadsheet... fine with me... I am using Lightroom and its great indexing and searching capabilities. I was hoping someone had made an online way to index your shots more easily... sort of automatically pulling the fleet data and you just have to plug in the images :-)

    Thanks
