Air France has basically stopped A380 service to JFK?

Last 14 flights have been served by 777-300ER so that leaves only the Emirates now. I hope to see Qantas and Lufthansa and Singapore A380s here some day ... we have enough citizens from those countries here in NY

Lufthansa will be next. Singapore is possible. Qantas unlikely unless they do an equipment sub.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.

Personally I rather see a 773 over an 380 any day

    Hi
One of AF380 F-HPJD has been damaged at CDG by an A330-200 AF winglet see enclosed pictures :

One AF380 is missing that's why AF A380 flights to NY are suspended during the repair

Laurent, AWESOME pics. Thanks for the info. I knew there had to be reason. Are you flying out on the A380? AFR 6 and 7 are usually the A380 flights.

Doesn't the AFR A380 use the GE engine rather than the Trent Rolls-Royce? There's been no trouble with the GE engines. Imagine the disappointment when those expecting to fly the A388 are boarded onto the B777. In '79, that happened to me. I was scheduled to fly Concorde from DFW to IAD. My reservations got fouled-up and I was told I was going on the Braniff 727. Luckily, I got to the ticket counter early and started crying; they switched me to the British Concorde. I never expected such aggravation but the flight was well-worth it. We were served champagne before departure and I got a window seat. R.I.P Concorde.

I say a new "Concorde" has to be in the works. There is no reason for it not to be available. Just look at the daily flights from BAW to-from US-UK. At least SOME of those folks want to get here and back quickly ;-)

You won't see QF ever bring it to JFK but LH has plans for this Summer and as long as the loads are good and fuel doesn't spike EK will keep it this time.

There will be a supersonic bizjet before another Concorde. Individual rich folks can afford them, airlines cannot.

Good point Matt. But who? And will it be Lockheed Martin, or Boeing MD? My bet is on Phantom as Skunk is usually too busy winning military competitions! And I guess Virgin would be the operator...

Dassault actually had a supersonic business jet concept a while back but if I remember correctly it was entirely too expensive.
