VIDEO United Airlines Almost hits the Golden Gate Bridge

Ok, Let me start out by saying all pilots are dumb! (Sorry John)

I mean lets face it.... if they can not see that they almost killed 1.5 million people with this very dangerous stunt and a NEW REPORTER Obiously knows more than the person who was AT THE CONTROLS AND FLYING THE PLANE! GRRRRR

People are STUPID! (There was a little sarcasm in this post) I do not like stupid news!

The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

They weren't even close LOL... the angle and compression make it seem that way but they actually turned WAY IN FRONT of the bridge and pretty far from it. At least from what I can tell. OPTICALLY it LOOKS like it is close but it is actually way in front of the tower.

I wonder how many passes he did?

It was a simple fly by at an air show. Why is this making such media buzz?

Because it is labeled as "747 Almost Hits Golden Gate Bridge" and that's all it takes. There were some early reports that it actually HIT the bridge... LOL. And once it goes viral, EVERYONE has to get in on the action.

News reporters for the majority are not the brightest. But it's SFO... With a little luck that city will be a distant sand bar for Nevada's new ocean front beaches anyway.

On CNN they are actually analyzing the footage with maps and slow motion. Its kinda funny and ridiculous.

    Here's the CNN clip: http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/...ate.cnn?hpt=C2

To think that things like this actually need to be explained to the public is scary. We're all doomed.

couldn't have said it better myself. so sad!
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Did anyone manage to get a real nice shot of her passing in front of the bridge??? If the public wants to freak out about it then be my guest, but I want to see a real nice shot of her banking with the GG Bridge as a backdrop....how badass would that be!

It really amazes me how out of touch people can be to make some of the moronic comments I just read on YouTube about the fly past. I'm shocked they actually knew it was a 747.

I gotta say on Saturday it sure looked like it came awfully close to the bridge. But on Sunday I was down by the bridge and was surprised at how far away it really was.
