Moves like this devalue Elite status with an airline... Those seats have always been held for Elites at the time of booking. Now there open game for anyone willing to pay. One of the advertised benefits of being an Elite with AA is "choice" seating. Not thrilled with AA's new program of buying Elite features. I'll have to watch to see how these new programs interfere with my Platinum Status....perhaps might be time to see what the other carriers will offer me in terms of a status match for my biz...
