Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.

I'm looking for confirmation above the Marke****ch Article. I haven't seen anything else.

Reuters reported it too, and added that the airlines will sue the gov't.

The FAA decision is being appealed and a judicial review being looked at. They are not dropping the swap deal. This is from a very reliable source.

Gotham, your article states that the "drastically" reduced US operation would have moved to the Marine Air Terminal. The actual plan was to have a split operation at the MAT (Shuttle) and at the current DL Terminal (Mainline + Express 3 or 4 gates).

Yep, that's the plan.Originally Posted by LGA777

This will probably take years to decide, so it might as well be scrapped for now. Delta and US may be in vastly different positions by the time it is settled, as will the airlines who they want to sell those extra slots to.Originally Posted by emshighway

A quasi-official statement
Delta and US Airways filed an appeal of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration's ruling regarding their proposed slot transaction in New York and Washington, D.C., in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia today. Both airlines continue to believe the slot transaction will benefit consumers traveling to and from New York and Washington, D.C. While Delta and US Airways have informed the U.S. Department of Transportation and the FAA they will not proceed with the transaction under the conditions imposed by the FAA, the appeal is the latest step in the airlines' effort to reach a solution.
