No one would be telling you what photso you can't take. If you're on the tour, you take any photos you want.

We plan to visit New York that week -- so perfect. The PA LGA Photo Tour at Marine Air Termina sounds perfect for us - thanks for the heads-up.I'll post a bigger piece with more detailed info soon....but I wanted you all to get on the tours ASAP before tickets run out.
This is BIG and fun stuff here. Ramp tours at all three local airports during the Airliners International 2010 show August 12-14th!
Lady, you want me to answer you if this old airplane is safe to fly? Just how in the world do you think it got to be this old?New York CityNew York Airport InfoAnon--
Any idea of which ramps will be visited during the tour at JFK? I would be surprised if guests would be allowed to photograph ramp operations around international terminals due to hightened security these days. My guess is that the tour would stop by the ramps at Jet Blue, Delta,AAL, and UAL.
There will not be stops near airline's or terminal's ramps. There will be only ONE stop, alongside the active runway, for eitehr landing or departure photo opportunities.

I am interested in the spotting tours at the 3 airports..What ticket selection do i make.
Thank you

Spotting Deprived Spotter...Need some spotting....
All,
I am very disappointed and upset to report that following:
"DUE TO RECENT EVENTS IN NEW YORK CITY AND NEW HOMELAND SECURITY DIRECTIVES IT IS WITH DEEP REGRET THAT WE ARE CANCELING THE AIRPORT PHOTO TOURS. THE CONTINENTAL TOURS ARE STILL AS PLANNED AND SCHEDULED .-AI2010"
Refunds will be given out to all who purchased tickets. :(

I was considering to go. This blows.

I guess we will just have to give free tours of our favorite spotting locations.
It's hard to take chances but sometimes it's better if you do

This was bound to happen you know. They probably had to pull some strings to even get the PA and TSA to allow it to begin with.Originally Posted by Phil D.
Anyway, Phil, (or somebody), is it known what the status is of the DC-7 coming to New York?
Thanks,

The DC-7 is not definite, but still in the works. I'll keep you posted!
As crappy as it is to not have the ramp tours, keep in mind there is still the collectible show and sale, the BBQ, the banquet, the slide auction, the photo contest, the model contest, photo galleries and more. It will still be a great event that will bring people from all over the world.

Three cheers for the Port Authority!!
But it is OK to have your kids in the tower.... :borat:
I just re-booked with Jeff from AI the Continental Hanger Tour. I was really looking forward to the JFK tour but this will have to suffice. At least I can get up & personal with some aircraft...
Cancelled do to possible connection with Pakistan extremist connection.Originally Posted by Tom_Turner

Might as well keep going with this line of logic--- It's been working well for a while now.
Know what gets me most of all with the tours..... it was not for me, but for my 2 sons, and my wife was coming too. Thats a major expense- in order to do the tours you have to do the BBQ/show package too- not cheap for a party of 4 ( Jeff really knows how to stick it)
The sun is going to be very high and I'm sure the humidity extreme so I was not even thinking of decent pics for myself. All I wanted was to see my kids face with a smile on them so they can experience being close to the planes and take their pics- without the Gestapo PAPD harassing a 8 and 10 year old- that's it. It would have been worth the money. They are gravely disappointed.
I have no apology in saying: go ahead and "blow up ..................." Why not- were paying for it anyhow! Freedom is dying.
"my finger on the shutter button, while my eye is over my shoulder"
While this is EXTREMELY dissapointing I am actually more surprised the Port was actually going to allow these in the first place than they where cancelled.
As far as the DC-7 they where hoping to bring it to MCO last July for AI 2009. It still has not flown due to FAA and paperwork issues, though it has had numerous engine run ups and some taxi tests at Opa Locka.
I agree 100 pct with Phil, their still will much to enjoy and I hope to see many of you in August at AI2010, going to be a GREAT show and time !
Cheers
