    AA Fleet Numbers

I was looking up registrations on certain photos, and I noticed that the letters change.

I took a photo of N778AN with the fleet number of "78A". But then I found others photos of the same aircraft with the fleet numbers of 78L and 78M.

Is it something that changes after a C-check or seat reconfig? Anyone know?

Also...anyone know a web page that has a full AA fleet list? Thanks!

I use this when looking up stuff. AA's tail #'s are all over the place. You will find the older a/c they have will have AA at the end of the number. Newer ones will have AN at the end. TWA a/c will be all # and some older dogs only have 1 A at the end.

Not all ex TWA aircraft are all numbers regis. The newer MD80s TWA had have TW on the end of the regis. Most of TWA's newer planes started using TW at the end and only their older planes used all numbers.

    Re: AA Fleet Numbers

Phil. airfleets.net does have AA's fleet list broken down by aircraft type and includes even very recent deliveries but it has the reg or N number and c/n, first flight dates, delivery dates but not the actual fleet number.

I have a big collection of JP Fleet guides but stop collecting them so my newest is I think 3 or 4 years old. If anyone has a newer one and time and the equipment to scan for Phil this would have both the reg and fleet number for their entire fleet. Phil if no one else can help you with this quest I will try and scan that for you on my days off next week, will be missing some of the newest 738's and 777's, but would probably cover 90 pct of their current fleet including 100 pct of the MD80 and 757 fleet.

Good Luck with your quest Mr NYCA

Would also probably be 100% of their 767 fleet as well

AA has almost all of TWA's newer MD80s which were built in the 90s. TWA's MDs were far newer then AA's fleet at the time of the buy out.

There are plenty of the N---TW MDs flying around. You'll see them through AA's entire domestic network.
