New Livery for Air France?

Maybe I'm imagining things but when I saw the new A380 arrive at JFK, something looked different. The Air France logo has changed. The words are slimmer and are written together as one word.There is also a red design behind the cockpit windows. Did anybody else notice that? Is the new logo only on their A380? I wonder. Models I've seen of the A380 all contain the old logo so they are already obsolete with the first flight. The tail logo is slightly changed, too. It used to have 4 navy blue stripes but now has only 3 and the red stripe has been widened.. There was no news coverage of this inaugural flight on TV or in newspapers, I guess it wasn't historic enough.

There were helos present, I think i did see Ch.7....

And it was historic, when the A380 came to JFK back in 2007 ?

The new slightly revised Air France livery was first introduced on an A330-200 in May 2009 or around 6 months ago.



Just a friendly suggestion. When I see something that is new to me I check recent a.net or JP photos for that particuliar airline or type to see in fact if something has changed before making a post like this one. I just checked a.net and for the most recently posted 60 Air France photos and their are 12 shots of the new revised Air France scheme on 5 aircraft types. The 318, 319, 332, 773, and 380. It's very easy to search this and it might save you the riducle I have noticed you get on some of your posts. Not trying to be a jerk, but to help you. I'm pretty sure I am not the only on this site that uses this practice !

Yes, just a small modification - like Alitalia, Royal Jordanian, Virgin, Turkish, KLM etc... the industry is going though a spasm of tweaks lately... probably doesn't help their bottom line, but they're tasked anyway... :|

In my defense, since some of you are attacking me about being unaware of the new Air France livery (you live under a rock), I based my comment on the Air France logo on the models of the A380 which is available showing the old livery only. Even the model manufacturers were unaware that Air France changed the livery or they would have made the A380s with the new livery.Since I rarely do spotting anymore after the semi-retirement of the B744s, I am not up-to-date on livery changes. Where can I purchase an Air France A380 model bearing the new logo? The changed design makes the models bearing the old livery obsolete. Regarding the ridicule I get for my postings, I find them unnecessary and nasty. I guess that certain members have nothing better to do. The only response necessary was that the livery was modified 6 months ago. The "living under a rock" crack was just plain nasty. Also, please remember that the Air France livery has not changed since they started flying Concorde back in 1976, so you can imagine my shock when I spotted that new livery with the red "swoosh" behind the cockpit.

Several scale models of the new A388 Air France are on the market. Only 1 shows the revised logo, the others all show the old colors. Despite the fact that the old colors could become collector's items, I will wait for the revised models so my model at home matches what I spot at JFK.
