Interesting announcement, because it seems they have massive problems, i.e. possibly not having any planes to operate this service with. I know they're a very poor country, but sheesh. I did a little research and wrote a post about it...

Note 2: The board has rejected yet another plan to lease 777s in the short term until their order of new ones is delivered, forcing the pilots to go as far as asking the Prime Minister to intervene.

The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
Biman acquired or leased a 747 classic in old NW colors and painted it in a nice hybrid livery. Don't know if they still have it and could use it to JFK
