I generally don't get to excited over a book to the point that I would post something about it but I just finished reading a fantastic book by renowned Geo Political theorist George Friedman titled "The Next 100 Years." The book outlines the growth of the United States into the Mid to late 21st century as well as the rest of the globe and offers some interesting theories based on current political trends. Some interesting points that I found fascinating are the following.

- The U.S doesn't need an all out victory in the Mideast and will not strive to achieve one.
- The U.S and Russia will engage in another Cold war which we are starting to see form already.
- The Russian Gov't will collapse within 10 years because of internal issues within its own boarders combined with an economy that cannot withstand further declines. Russia will break up and land will return to its proper previous nations
- The rise of Turkey as a world power by the mid century. In the past Turkey was a world power and today has one of the fastest growing economies and military in the world.
- Poland will replace France and Germany as the influential powers on continental Europe. The shift of power in Europe will move east.
-Japan will begin to rise as a military power in the mid century.
- China and India will not be world players but rather regional powers as they are now.
- Iran will not become a major influence in the Mideast.
- The U.S will begin to encourage immigration from Mexico as our population begins to peak and decline around 2030.
- Mexico will become an economic power by the late century.

His reasons for these predication are pretty solid and backed up by real facts. I encourage you if you're looking for a new book to read to check it out. Its a long book but very well written, non partisan, and supported with facts and history.
