    KBOS 5/25/09

Back home in beantown, I got the chance to catch up with a spotter friend and catch some good 'ole BOS traffic. It felt great to be back there, I wish I didn't have to leave. Here's a sample of the better shots - many more will come (though most will just go up on flickr):

    Old scheme NW A320!

    Virgin Atlantic A346

    US Airways B734

    Lufthansa B744

British Airways B744 x2 (I know, bad heat haze, but I like it anyways)

    Private G5

    American Eagle ERJ

    Virgin America A320

    United B752

Great shots, and nice variety...not much BOS action on here.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Did this friend have insider contacts? I only ask because it looks like you had a great location to shoot from, and I have the feeling if I made a trip to BOS to shoot, I would not be able to get these angles. If this is a hassle free spot though...I have a new place to visit come fall.

    Re: KBOS 5/25/09

I had insider contacts (as BOS used to be my big spotting airport in college), which I then used to turn it out to the public. I developed a relationship with Massport and Phil Orlandella for this location for several years (Terminal B rooftop) - all you have to do is email him about a week in advance and you'll usually get permission to shoot. You can request several days at a time.
It should be noted that these shots were all taken from the Terminal B rooftop and that the runways did a complete 360 in 4 hours, using every combination available - hence the multiple angles.

not much BOS action on here
If I still lived out here, this forum would be as inundated with BOS as it is with BFI!

    Great set of shots.

I like your 2 British in one shot, reminds me of my shot from Bos.

Great shots Jeremy, very high quality as usual. I like size perspective of Air France and the Cape Air

Nice set Jerslice! What college did you go to in the Boston area?
I'll be at Boston University in the fall. Did you like the Boston area, any comments on it?
If KBOS is as spotter freindly as you say, hopefully I'll be able to do some spotting over there.

As always great shots as always Jeremy. I really like the two BA's, the HOT G-V, never seen a shot of that one or in person. The 744 vs 402 shot is really cool, I once got a similar shot of C-172 and CO 772 together at SDQ, its on JP.

I'm glad we (US) where able to supply two of the Heritage Scheme 319's for your lense. I don't believe the East 319's have been scheduled at SEA for a while.

Keep um coming their buddy !

Well, the last of the pics I'll post here - since they are going over very well (and thanks all for the props!). I certainly enjoyed being back at home, and really wish Seattle weren't so far away. I don't like being that far away from the people and places I know and love.
Return trip pics on route after my return trip tomorrow at 10am (PVD-EWR-SEA). This is all for BOS. The rest will be on flickr. Thanks again for the comments both here and otherwise!

BOS gets them regularly thankfully. I have many gotten nearly every US special scheme in the past year at BOS. I often would see the PSA and the Steelers on every trip...sometimes up to three times a day!

What college did you go to in the Boston area?
Gordon College in Wenham MA, off of 128. I also took classes at Suffolk while living in Dorchester MA in the city. Boston is a great city, and I love it. I hope to return to live there again some day. I'll send you over some information on KBOS soon.

Great stuff Jeremy, and thanks for the info regarding spotting there. I'll have to make a trip this fall up that way.

It is a Saab - a 340 to be more specific. BOS doesn't get any ATR's that I know of...maybe the smaller Dash8?

Also, eric8669, that's a great shot. Looks like you were airside - where'd you take that from?
