    KMEB 12/30/08

I made a road trip down to Birmingham 2 weeks ago to see Rutgers play NC state in the papajohns.com bowl. On the way back I made a little detour to Maxton, NC to catch some of the old NWA aircraft that are there waiting to be scrapped. We left immediately after the game so the timing didn't work out to well. Late afternoon would be the best time to shoot these birds rather then at sunrise like I did.

It was a long drive to say the least but at least Rutgers won as well

The timing was perfect on this one, he had no idea

Wow, great shots Bill. That place looks so forlorn.

Great shots. What is that blue and orange 757?

Also, looking up N322XV on anet, it's been there in about the same condition for at least 10 years. Why don't they chop it up?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

the 757 is a former Mytravel bird. The 737 is a former Olympic but orginally flew for New Zeland Air in 1968.

great job Bill, I've been trying to find an old overhead bin from a retired airliner to use as a bookshelf for some time now, I wonder if that's a good place to call?
Have you ever seen a grown man naked?

    Yummy shots Bill,
I was there in 2005 and I see nothing has changed.

Might be but I have no idea who you would have to call though. All I saw was the very small general aviation terminal and the Army Golden Knights building. They do alot of practice jumps here.
