    KLM Joins the Retro Club

As expected KLM unveiled it's entry in the now (happily) Huge retro club in Europe

A few coments to make, I think the 738 makes a much better choice than the A-319 for these schemes as it much better proportined. At 129 feet in length, this 737 is pretty close to the 150 foot long DC-8-51 this scheme was in service on.

While I applaud KLM (and so many other carriers especially in Europe) for doing this scheme personally I would have prefered the next scheme over what they picked. Using the DC-8 here is the scheme they used,

and then my preferance, which do you guys like better?

    Cheers

Gorgeous. Too bad it's not a plane that visits us. :(
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

i'm just glad to see it on a boeing rather than another boring 'bus.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

I think its good to have one retro example on a 737, but I much rather prefer them on the A320 family. To me, it shows a great contrast between the old color, and the very modern airliner, linking together the past and future. The same way I would really like to see one on a 330, 787 or even an E170.
