South African Goes Nonstop May 1st

South African Airways will be eliminating the stop in DKR on their current JNB-DKR-JFK-DKR-JNB route and will be moving the departure time up.

Starting on May 1st their new departure schedule will be:

SA204 JFK 1135 - 0845+1 JNB 343 D

We lost a morning A340 departure but we gained one equally as good.

There an upgrade to the A346 with this change?

I don't believe the A340-600 could make this route direct in both directions.

The A346 can do the the IAD - JNB - not sure why it couldn't do the JFK - JNNB direct. But - note - it's only the JFK-JNB leg - they cab't do the JNB-JFK direct.
