    AAL 85 Returns to JFK

I am curious why American flight 85 had to return to JFK yesterday (Dec.11). It was a B763 and departed Rwy 4L at 1524 but returned as an emergency at 1535. What was the emergency? I would post on the jfktower site, but it is still shut-down.

According to another board, a smoke alarm went off and there was white smoke or mist in the cabin.

A replacement aircraft was used, and it arrived in SFO 3 hours late.
    It's the fares, stupid

these sort of things should not be posted in haste. IMO they shouldn't be posted at all. i've seen someone literally suffer a heart attack because someone read on a website somewhere that her husband had crashed his airplane at an airshow and died. she raced into our office at the FBO and suffered a heart attack there. turns out the airplane just suffered an oil leak.

bottom line, i know you're looking for info here but be careful what you post. not all info you get is correct. if you post something that is wrong it could turn out badly.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
