    LGA Trivia

What was the first jet to fly into LGA?

What was the first jet airliner to fly into LGA?

What was the name of the airport that literally bordered LGA during the first 6 months of operation?

How long was a flight from LGA-LAX on a DC-3?

These are great questions. I have similar questions about Floyd Bennett Field and JFK (Idlewild). I did learn that Newark Airport competed with Floyd Bennett and Newark won-out as it was closer to Manhattan.

    First jetliner: 727 (United)

EXCELLENT :borat: I tried to post yesterday 2 times by got sidetracked with my boys....

I would have had the 727 as the first Jetliner.... but I would have had the other two wrong. Thanks for the history! Good Stuff 8)

As for the airport I have no idea...because Glen Curis's airport, later renamed North Beach Airport, then rebuilt and later named for Fiorello H. La Guardia. So..... it really was the same land incorperated into LGA. Hmmmm
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

were these questions a product of a flight safety instructor? i've heard them before...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

I made the questions based on facts from a book about LGA that I was reading. I can't find it online so I can't show it to you folks. Maybe I'll take pics of it soon. Great book.
