    CH-53 Past House

Getting ready to go out to dinner about 6:35 tonite when I heard a hum of an approaching copter. It had the sound of something big so I grabbed my binocs and went into my backyard. I kept hearing the hum grow louder and kinda couldnt figure out which way it was coming. Then all of a sudden it gets louder and to my north I see
a Sikorsky CH-53 flying below 1000 feet at a nice speed heading southwest bound. With the low light and the low level and speed I couldnt get a good viewing but it
did look pretty cool. Didnt hear anything on my scanner either.
    Okay time for dinner.

saw one a few days ago, it was flying formation with an NYPD bell 412 over my neighborhood up towards LGA. i can't begin to tell you how jealous i was...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

I probably have about 100 hrs in CH53s,and CH46s, all logged in the back, with a rifle between my knees.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
