Not the actual "Memphis Belle", which is undergoing restoration at the Air Force Museum, but rather N3703G, the aircraft used in filming the movie of the same name. She will be arriving Monday 9/8 at 11:30am and is scheduled to stay through 9/18.

Nice to see some variety of the B-17 movements through Farmingdale once again.
Nothing wrong with 909, Aluminum Overcast, Yankee Lady etc... they're great, but its good to see the rest as well. This one in particular, the Memphis Belle colors, I could be wrong, but used to be based out of FRG some time ago.
Now, if we could only get Liberty Belle and lure Sentimental Journey to Long Island as well.

Went out to FRG this morning to catch the Belle. We were all waiting at the museum, trying to figure out where we wanted to be for her arrival, when she came taxiing in.

Great shots y'all!
I love living nearby and hearing the skies abuzz with such rich sounds. It never ends.
All weekend our skies with filled sounds of Grummans and Mustangs, last weekend was the B17 and tonight its traffic headed to JFK 22s.
Love it.
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Nice catches, Moose. If you're looking for a good read, check out "The Man Who Flew the Memphis Belle". It's essentially Captain Bob Morgan's autobiography, but it covers a great deal of the war (obviously). I met the Captain a few years ago at the Dover Airshow before he passed away. He even signed my book! :)
Went out with Fred to catch the Belle depart this morning...
