Blended Winglets Make First Flight on Boeing 767-300ER

Monday July 21, 8:22 pm ET

Aviation Partners Boeing Celebrates another Significant Milestone in the Dramatic Success Story of Blended Winglet Technology

An American Airlines 767-300ER equipped with Aviation Partners Boeing Blended Winglets took to the skies for the first time at 1:50 p.m. central time Sunday July 20th. The newly modified aircraft flew a ferry flight from Kansas City, Missouri to San Bernardino, California where it will undergo two months of certification and winglet performance flight testing. The Blended Winglet installation, along with necessary wing and aircraft systems modifications, was performed by American Airlines employees at their Kansas City Maintenance Base.

can't wait to see better shots of this bird! the enlarged phot in the link is covered with copyrighting text... can't wait to see her on a equip sub at LGA! kudos to AAL for installing bent wings on thier boeing fleet!
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Seriously, the 767, especially the -300, was one of the most naturally ugly birds out there. This will make a HUGE diffy.

You think so, Senga? It makes the boring 763 look like a supersized BBJ!

to say, The 763 with winglets aint that all that but it would be fun to catch.. in my opinion, the 757s look more better with the winglets..

I'm with you there Senga. I don't care for any of the wingletted Boeings other than the 744.

    Wunaladreamin,
You are the first person (Other than msyelf) that I have known to not be a fan of these retrofitted winglets.
I wonder if there is anyone else.
