G.A.O. Backs Boeing on Aerial Tanker Deal

The Government Accountability Office on Wednesday backed Boeing’s protest of the awarding of a multibillion-dollar contract for refueling tankers to Northrop Grumman and a European partner, saying the Air Force made errors during the process.
The G.A.O., the investigative arm of Congress, recommended that the Air Force reopen the bidding and obtain revised proposals. [Full Article]

glad there's someone with a brain looking this thing over. i for one never thought the KC-45 was ever the right platform, regardless of the fact that i'm partial to seattle-built airplanes....
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
The KC-45 is not win the tanker bid, the Boeing (767) aircraft lost. Boeing did not do its best & in my opinion, did something to piss the Air Force off....Originally Posted by cancidas

Right move in my opinion. With regards to their proposal Boeing may have deserved the "smack on the buttocks", but not a total pardon either. Where it goes from here is still up in the air. Though you give up commonality I think a mix makes the most sense.
