    JFK 6/17/08

The northwest winds that blew all the schmutz out of the air also meant Rwy 31 ops at JFK, so I headed down to Firestone this afternoon. Conditions were terrific! Warm, nice breeze, interesting skies as a background. The sun was in-and-out a bit, but not bad, and I got some interesting catches!

Catch of the day! Never even heard of Neos before, let alone shoot one. Their web site (http://www.neosair.it) is in Italian, but their flight selector doesn't include NY, so I'm guessing this is a charter or lease flight.

Shortly after Neos, caught this Delta 757 with Grammy Awards markings.

Around 5, they switched to 22s, so I headed over to The Mounds. There were a bunch of kids using the soccer field, and I got a lot of friendly interest. As the day went on, the light just got better and better.

What can Brown do for you? I think this is the first UPS jet I've shot.

    And the "Other Guys"

    Speaking of cargo jets...

"Horizons Enfance" (Kids' Horizons) - an Air Canada program helping charities focusing on children.

Added 4 new airframes towards my goal of shooting the JetBlue fleet, including this one. As it's name says, it's "Brand spankin' blue" - it's not even on the fleet list I have.

In this light, it even looks clean

Finally called it quits around 7:45 when the sun disappeared behind some big clouds, but hard to argue with the results from the day - great weather, and for me, some unusual and rare catches!

    Nice stuff, Moose.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Great catches buddy! That Neos looks a lot like one of the Thomsonfly liveries.
