Virgin America Adding Frequency to Several Routes

No expansion for now, it seems, but VA is boosting frequency on most of their routes starting in May and June.

One extra flight in each direction on IAD-LAX, IAD-SFO, JFK-LAX, JFK-SFO...plus two extra flights each way on SFO-SEA.

Sounds simply like a normal summer increase in frequency. Most airlines increase frequency during the summer travel months. Doesn't mean a thing. EOS was adding EWR and DXB and look where they are now.

Eos didn't plan to have a 50 million financing order pulled from them!

VA should be just fine I think but they do owe a lot of money.

Alex....even with 50 million which is not a lot of money for a business with the kind of expenses EOS had they were done. Why do you think the 50 mil was pulled? The investors no longer had confidence in the market, the company or the business plan. You don't think EOS knew what would happen if they didn't get the 50 mil? They knew they needed the money or it was over however a company isn't going to come out and say that nor hold back on their plans. If they did the employees would lose focus, the customers would run away, plus w/e investors they had would head for the hills killing the company sooner then later. Hence why I used them as an example. VX's increase in frequency states nothing about their current health. Running A320's and A319s Transcon for rock bottom fares isn't a recipe for success.

VX just got a cash infusion of $100 million so they're fine for a few months at least.

Just out of curiosity, will they now be using the Skybus aircraft that had the NxxxVA reggies?
Hard to add frequencies without additional tin.

Good possibility, can't find any info about it though.

Something interesting I just found on their site: Virgin America Elevate members and first class passengers may now access Virgin Atlantic lounges for $40 a day. It looks like they also finally figured out how their award travel is going to work, but it seems you can't redeem your points for anything just yet.

According to two reliable websites both N522VA and N521VA are still leased to SkyBus.

Something to remember is that they now have 6 A319s and 13 A320s in service. There are currently the 2 A319s leased to SkyBus and 2 A320s leased to TAM as well as 2 stored.
