My brother described this about Tokyo when he visited 2 years ago but this is not what I 'd imagined. That's insane!
Don;t they worry about pickpockets, etc? Or is that their way of dealing with it? "CRAM them in so they can't move!" :shock:

I was in Tokyo a few months ago, and I can attest to how crowded the trains are - they make the 6 train at rush hour look like a ghost town.
The Tokyo rail system is amazing though. At rush hour, there were trains every 2 minutes, each one jammed packed. I still can't believe they shut the system down at like 1AM every morning until 5AM...
