    Re: USAF C-40 LGA

Quick question; I see this a lot but I have no idea what those numbers mean.

    "Message content:-
    #M1BPRG/FNEXEC1F/DTKLGA,22O,225,153118,29A2F4"

Are those numbers VORs or flight times or???
    Thanks

    nikon50bigma,

Most of the data in that strip is usless to us. Most of it is just Raw data being sent to and from groundstations.
For this particular transmission the useful part is ..(Direct Track DTK to LGA with either a heading or VOR radial of 220, 225. More than likely it was a heading.

    DTKLGA,22O,225

a scanner & cable from Radio Shack and a small program from AirNav systems.

You can see some crazy stuff over the "airwaves". A lot of the time from bizjets.

Cant tell you how many times though during "big games" (ie: Super Bowl, Final Four, World Series) you get a message saying "What's the score in the xxx game?"

Yeah, I'm one of those geeks. I haven't done decoding in a while, but, when I have some spare time and the weather sucks, I'll throw it on.

    Lezam,
I use ACARSD. You can pick anything and everything up with it as long as they participate.
To build on what lijk604 said.
You need a scanner or scanners, audio cables, sound card (or Cards) your computer and software like Acarsd or Airnav. The better set up you have the more transmissions you will get.
I currently can utilized 4 scanners. But you can have more with Acarsd.

Along with the standard data I have recived all kind of messages.
Everything from making hotel reservatios, flirting pilot/ground ops to gossip.

I let it run for about 14.5 hours on this particular session.
I stopped it after 3000 hits on 131.12.
