    Airline Logos

Would you say that the majority of airlines use a bird as their logo? Or possibly, they use stylized designs using their own corporate lettering. Sadly, JAL removed its famous crane from their tail and now the red "sun" is too plain and reminds me of NWA. I guess that birds are passe. Air India replaced its tail after so many years with a stylized design also ressembling the sun..

For the bird, all I can think of is: Lufthansa, LOT, Gulf, Kuwait Airways, PLUNA, Ethiad, Aerolineas Argentinas. Air China has kind of a roster. Not that many. I think most "main" airlines use national themes, like the flag, or other icons, like the KLM crown.

(Grupo) TACA has the macaw, with the newer livery showing the bird 'stealing' the C in TACA. Looks pretty cool to me.

US rocks the flag, co uses theglobe and Delta uses the widget which is supposed to represent the Mississippi Delta somhow according to the history and backround of the airline.
Southwest Airlines-"Once it pop's it's time to stop" Southwest Airlines-"Our Shamu's are almost real" Southwest Airlines -"We blow our top real easy" Southwest Airlines- "You can't top us..... really"

    Re: Airline Logos

My favorite employer, of the 5 airlines I have worked for was Piedmont, which used the Speedbird as it's logo, and it still survives today on the present day Piedmont, the Dash 8 flying US Express carrier, which proudly displays a small white speedbird near the boarding door of every Dash 8. BTW in addition to the name "Speedbird" many Piedmont employees affectionally called it the "Peedybird"

    spellman,

if you look it up the widget acually appears in 1959. Introduced during Delta's "Royal JET Service" promotion for the DC-8, the first jet in 1959.

    Good guess though ?

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
