Relatives are celebrateing in Mass. and here in NY at this hour. It is a great day. Unfortuneately the serb's can't let it go and have attacked the US embassy. It is funny how they are not attacking any of the other respective embassy's though that brokered the birth today. Another sign of the level of ignorance abroad on the issue if you ask me.

DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania — President George W. Bush said Sunday the U.S. will work to prevent violent clashes following Kosovo's declaration of independence. His administration withheld immediate comment on the historic announcement as the province sought swift recognition by the United States.

"The United States will continue to work with our allies to do the very best we can to make sure there's no violence," Bush said, several hours before Kosovo's parliament approved a declaration of independence from Serbia.

They feel the ethnic Albanians who escaped into Yugoslavia during the communist age are stealing Serbian land. Then again, Albanians occupy most of the area in Kosovo, with a small percentage of Serbs, mainly to the north. If the Albanians aren't wanted in the country, then what is the harm of them having their own country. This is a really complicated issue, I just want to see how it plays out, before I form an opinion. :?:
