It's January, and what do I hear...

    ....but Mister Softee outside.

    January 12. Ice cream.

I didn't get a good look, but it must be driven by Al Gore himself. My God.

We were supposed to wake up with 1-3 and then get more during the day. I got some rain instead and now it's just cloudy with no precip.

Nice, Gordon. I saw a few cars this morning with snow on them that must have come from around your parts. I was pretty annoyed when I saw nothing on the ground this morning. Not that I like trudging to work through the snow, but I was ready... how did all the forecasts get it completely wrong? I understand the TV forecasts playing up the snow like it's the end of the world, but the generic National Weather Service forecast predicted 5-8 inches too.

We ended up with a little snow, not even an inch, just enough to coat the grass on the North Shore. Roads are OK. Sounds like the temps stayed warmer then expected longer then expected, or we would have gotten a bunch more.

It was three degrees warmer than forecast. The amount of rain and snow that fell overnight probably would have been about 6 inches, but the temperature never got below 34, so none of it stuck.

When I left LGA about 0045 this morning had only seen rain, some heavy. But when I stepped off Metro North in the Bronx about 0140 it was snowing moderatly with all car windshields and roofs covered in a little bit of snow. Looked out the bedroom window about 0615 and surrpised to see no snow. Got in the car about 0700 and the rain had washed all the snow off all the cars, but their was no precip falling.

    Very strange day.

I live on top of a hill, and we got about four inches, but half a mile down the road, it was all rain. I was pissed having to go to school today.

Re: It's January, and what do I hear...

It was weird today by us. I woke up expecting tons of snow on the ground. Not a speck of snow. All rain. I crossed the Atlantic Beach bridge headded to Inwood and as soon as I am over the bridge there was 2 inches in spots and cars coming from points west with way more on the hood and roof. I was not too happpy to say the least. I was looking forward to the snow. As long as the snow is gone by Thursday in time for me to return to aviations worst traffic jam I am happy.
