    North American Trivia - Solved!

I learned something recently that surprised me. I'm almost disappointed I never realized it sooner.Let's see if anyone here can figure it out.

The North American Airlines paint scheme was inspired very closely from what other airline?

I will give no other clues, except show you a thumbnail of the NAA scheme.

    No cheating.

Total guess in the dark here, but based on their history with El Al (reason for creation, and owned 24.9% stake in it), i'm going to say them.

If It was not for the Flag, I would have thought Ryan Air the EU Airline.

I doubt you're that eager, but I want you guy to look around a bit more. Think.

One SLIGHT clue: If you saw the other airline's scheme, there would be no mistaking where the idea for NAA scheme came from.

Also, don't confuse logo with scheme. Two different things.

    GOOD WORK, MARK!!

When North American first came to be, a Caledonian 757 was dry leased for just a few months. The President liked the scheme and kept it. Slap on a sexy flag and the North American titles and there you have it.

    CALEDONIAN LIVES! haha

I also learned that the first 757 that was our was N757NA. I inquired as to where it is these days and it turns out it's now another one of my favorites....serving as a freighter with TNT, registered TF-FID. :D !!!

HOWEVER, I do not right now know the reg of the aircraft that was dry-leased from Caledonian. Would anyone have any way of figuring that out?

    Re: North American Trivia

N757NA was leased from another company, and is not the first one that we used.

I did a little more research, and found it!

We began doing charters for El Al, and we dry-leased this G-BPEA and put El Al titles on it.

[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/0370171/L/[/airlinersIt hopped around to a few other airlines afterward...

[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/0597248/L/[/airlinersA wild scheme here with Cebu Pacific:

[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/0647726/L/[/airliners...and now is with Air Slovakia.

[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/1291204/L/[/airlinersNow I need to fly to Slovakia to get a pic of this thing. :-/
