Thats the pain with sunset views on Staten Island, You only get good views if you are on the western side of the island or across the water in Manhatten or in Brooklyn.

I grew up in eastern Colorado, where the sun sets behind the mountains. The first time I went to Florida after I became cognizant of such things as sunset, I kept asking my mom and my grandmother why the sun went so low down in Florida.
Or so I'm told...
