I am now a religious visitor of gothamist.com. I especially enjoy their newsmap, which has bits of pieces of news flashes from around the city.

Though the descriptions are very short, you can see if something happened close to you, and sometimes the descriptions are very funny. You'll regularly see "Car vs. House" if a vehicle hits a building. The other day I saw "DOA in a tree" which is unfortunate but stimulates the imagination (maybe he traveled through time and came to the present day but in space occupied by a tree!)

I thought we'd use this thread to point out various news or funny incidents from the map that we otherwise would probably not read on the news.


Last night at 1:45am someone died in the subway at 60th an Lex.
