    Old ATH Airport - Dangerous?

    Hey Guys

I remember I was talking to hiss about this the other night but I'd like to know what you heard about the old ATH airport being dangerous, and I heard from around that it was on the dangerous Airport list after the TWA 847 hijacking, and hiss said something about mountains being near the airport.I'd also like to know if anyone has been to the new airport too, as I am thinking about going there soon. Side note too is it me or a majority of hijackings took place there in the 80s?

I don't remember hearing anything about mountains near the airport, but it most definitely was on the list of worst security back in those days.

Not sure about mountains near the airport, it was right at the ocean!

There was a hotel near there in the resort of Glyfada which had a rooftop pool and bar, and was obviously a haven for spotters and photographers from across Europe!

Unfortunately I never made it there :(
