    Olympic Airlines 767-200?

    Hey Guys:

I came across this picture and I couldn't help but notice its a 767-284ER , does anyone know if they ever operated a 767? as I don't think there is any pictures of one around, was it a canceled order maybe? Can someone explain?

    Heres the link:

Olympic never operated a 767-200 sir. But it would of been interesting to see that paint scheme on a 767.

    Re: Olympic Airlines 767-200?

Bobby, your question caught my curosity as I don't recall either Olympic operating 767's, so I dug out my Jet Airliners Production List , Volume 1 - Boeing Bible and discovered the following. I actually found 3 767-284ER's on one page, there may have been more, that where built for Olympic but NTU (Not Taken Up). Not sure if any where painted in Olympic colors or not. The 3 reg's I found where SX-ERA,B,C, with this first one being the aircraft in the photo. My book only goes as far as 1998 so not sure where the other two are now but Bravo was with Avianca and Charlie with Aeromexico. The below photo's mentions some other reg's used in the caption.

I hope that help's a little ? And if anyone else has more to add please do !

    Cheers

from my works its a OA 764.. Ron it did help but hey I also found out they ordered the 738 as well- I wonder what happened there- I mean they were prob interested in the 777 then right?

I also have this ? If OA did want to buy a 787 I wonder if they have the rights to get it when they want it - something like AA and UA rights would be- along with ELAL

According to the database I have, it was to be SX-ERA, which was ntu by Olympic. Coincidentally, this one probably visited JFK on a number of occasions as both CC-CEX and CC-CDH with LanChile and XA-RVZ for Aeromexico. There are a couple of -284s on the prod list. MSN 24742 is now N988AN with Avianca, and MSN 24762 is XA-JBC with Aeromexico. Delivery date for all 3 was mid-1990, to give you an idea of a timeframe with the order. Sounds like something that would have run a long-thin route - perhaps they were thinking of ATH-ORD, or operating YYZ and YUL (well, YMX, then) on separate flights?

    Confused..

As the picture Bobby linked has nothing to do with Olympic?

Or is he reffering to the Boeing Desginated code 84, which is an Olympic Code I assume?

Alex I was referring to the code... and yes 84 is the OA code from Boeing.

According to Air Fleets, the only 767 Olympic ever had was PH-MCV, leased from Arke Fly, from 29/06/2005 to 22/07/2005--just about a month in service.

Bobby you should have posted that in the link as I didn't know what you were talking about either. Olympic's been an odd airline for several years now. They were bought out by some company after almost going out of biz and their fleet needs an updating minus the A340s which are "newer."

Even the 340's are in need actually. They are pretty worn on the inside.
