Hillary: Not Insured? Then you can't have a job....

"At this point, we don't have anything punitive that we have proposed," the presidential candidate said in an interview with The Associated Press. "We're providing incentives and tax credits which we think will be very attractive to the vast majority of Americans."

She said she could envision a day when "you have to show proof to your employer that you're insured as a part of the job interview ...."

Unbelievable. She wants to establish "Universal Health Care" - fine, go for it... but at the very beginning, in her own words, its amazing to see already where this is going....

Well from the business's stand point they have to know whether you have insurance, because then they'd be liable if something were to happen to you, which is something they wouldn't want.

I'm not an expert on this stuff, but that's the way I see it. Under any kind of universal heath system where businesses no longer deal with that for their workers they would have to have some kind of guarantee, right?

Yes, probably, you are correct. But *why* (really) would the businesses be "responsible"?

Just the same as a business is responsible for checking your Social Security card or other proof that you can legally work in the US, or that you are old enough for employment.

Yes, and thats become much more involved in the last 20 years as well.

Why should an employer take on the responsibility (expense) of seeing if you can go to the hospital if you have opted to not buy insurance?

The govt needs to collect taxes and therefore the SS card is understandable, but ironically aren't the rules relaxed for checking the legal papers in some of the sectors that employ the most illegals? How convenient.

Honestly, how do Hillary and her fellow travelers imagine all these homeless people ever getting back into the workforce if it becomes as involved as applying for financial aid to college? Wait, let me guess -- It'll be part of an outreach program administered by police, fire, sanitation, postal service and armed forces... :shock:

She should just go straight to real socialized medicine. Adopt a Flat Tax and close the IRS and maybe she'll have a head start on paying for it... :D

Clinton once again shows she is unfit for the presedency of the USA with something like this. I do not think that she has a logical bone in her body though to begin with so this does not suprise me.

It is the democrats way to make things soo much more involved and costly than they need to be. The current methods have worked for years, why stop now? Next your going to need a certain annual income to live in this nation. It is already practically so in this state thanks to senator bird brains.

A little overkill here, 15%-20% of the American people do not have health insurance, out of that number, some have elected to not pay for it, even though they can afford it.

MediAide covers medical insurance for the poor
Medicare covers medical insurance for the elderly
States have Insurance for the poor and/or needy

Forcing everybody to have insurance is not the answer, and forcing everybody to pay for insurance even if they do not want it sucks as well.

I worked contract at one company, in lieu of medical insurance, the company gave me cash, I was young, so I elected to not have Insurance. Why should I be forced to have insurance? I was a big boy & knew what the risk were......

Look, it is not up to the goverment to make sure that the world is insured. Bottom line. If you have a job that has a carrier and a plan and you elect out of it oh well on you. If you are out of work for reasons out of your control, than I beleive the goverment should be tasked with the bill. Same with AMERICAN children if they live in a certain level of poverty which is the case for almost all families in certain areas of the nation. I say this from the view point of someone who has 7 grand in doctor bills as of current because I did not want to shell 20 dollars a pay check for the full maximum coverage and ended up in the hospital. I learned my lesson and I may make crap cash but I sure do not expect uncle sam to cover my back because of my choices.

And yes I now have my own insurance.

Again, Clinton showing how she wants to turn the US into a European "Socialist" Style society.

Canada currently has a system in place that sounds somewhat similar to the one Hillary wants to put in place if elected, and guess where one of their top officials is going for Cancer Treatment? A Hospital in California!
In fact, many foreigners (no shortage of Europeans in there) come to the US for treatment, because of our superior medical facilities and care. I think that speaks wonders of how universal health coverage, and heavily government funded health care generally degrades the medical field - or better put limits it.
