End of the Freedom Dash's at JFK?

I believe on Wednesday night I heard on the JFK Tower ATC:

"You just handled the last Freedom Dash-8 flight."

Now I wasn't sure if this just meant it was the last flight of the day or possibly forever at JFK but today leads me to think the second. I didn't see a single Delta Dash today however I did notice more Delta ERJ's then normal and two of them were in the new colors which suggests Freedom.

Does anyone know for sure if indeed the last day of Delta Dash at JFK was last week?

I don't know if yesterday was the day Gordon, but I did read the Delta Ex Dash 8s days were numbered for JFK.

Yes from what I heard, they were all supposed to be gone by the end of August/early September. I am glad, I hated the sight of seeing one of those little "ants" holding up a jumbo on the taxi line.

From a reliable source on another list, the last day of the Dash 8 operation was Monday.

This is correct, I talked to a former Freedom Captain who is now with Colgan and they dashes are out of here for good. There is talk that the Dashes in question may be finding themselves in sunny Florida actually and maybe replaceing some BE1900's at a quaint little airline called Gulfstream.

Real solid? I would say so, he left Freedom only very recently and is now with Colgan. I have also talked to several Delta and family employees over the last day as I spent the last 24 hours in CVG with people from Comair, Freedom, Skywest, Delta, and ASA. The Dashes are gone. The Gulfstream deal is rumored as they have been in the market for a small fleet of the dashes for quite some time.

Wow, its hard to believe that those Dash 8 are gone from Freedom, I enjoyed seeing them at JFK. I got a couple of pictures of Freedom Dash 8 from early summer i took.

For any of you who might get Dash 8 withdrawals over this not only are there are a bunch at LGA but there are already 4 or 5 in the new US scheme and more coming very quickly as two at a time are being painted.

I saw one of those Dash 8s in new USAir colors last time I was at LGA...as much as I dislike both the Dash 8 and USAir, I have to say, that color scheme is a good look for that plane...

adam613, on behalf of the at least 4 US employees on this site and the many past and some present US spporters on this site its nice to hear how much you dislike US. And btw even though you dislike it the Dash 8 is an amazing workhorse.

I saw a USAirway Dash 8 in the NC 3 days ago heading towards E. Tremont Ave in the Bronx heading to my friends house. I didnt even have my camera out in time to catch it
