Good work on GW's part! No new gas tax

GWB stopped a bill to jack the gas tax up again for the bridges. Good on him.

    Cheers!

The only thing Bush has done so far is say that he doesn't support it. The only thing Congressman Oberstar has done so far is to say that he supports it. There is only one thing that a President can do if he doesn't support a bill, veto it. Bush hasn't "stopped" anything. Nor, for that matter, has anything been started (not to mention that Oberstar announced the idea yesterday, and Congress has been in recess since Saturday). But who needs $25B to rebuild bridges and fix infrastructure, anyway, when we could pay for, oh, 4 months of Iraq?
