    Safety Cards

I've started to collect safety cards from aircraft that I find to be special.

For me, some of my gems include:

    ATA L-1011
    ATA DC-10
    Carpatair Saab 2000
    Frontier CRJ

Next, I want to try to get a NW A330 one, or a Russian airline (other than Aeroflot).

I would go for the NWA 320 firast. At the rate they are meeting the scrap torch they will get rare before NW DC-9's do.

Oh, good call. I actually should hunt down an NW DC-9 card first.

Some of my finest are an Icelandair 757 and Atlantic Coast D328Jet.

Do you go and fly the planes or just collect them off the 'net?

i collect them to phil, but only from the types that i fly. i'm not about to start buying them just for the sake of having them...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Some friends of mine used to give them to me as gifts, and I've asked the FA for extras and some have been more than happy to give them to me.

Man I have a ton of safety cards, I try to get one for every new type I fly but the most prized one I have is from a Continental 737-100.

I only take from a new type. I do have a couple that were "liberated" by a friend on a trip that he took (including a Canadi>n Regional F28), although it doesn't have the same satisfaction. Best one (of about 12) in the collection is a Beech 36/58 series.

I have a small collection from over the years only from aircraft I have actually flown on. If I had to pick a favorite it would be the MGM Grand DC-8-62. A tip for those who want to collect them, while we all know they are widely available on E-Bay, a more fun way is at an Airline Memorabilia Show. Sadly I will be missing this weeks Airliners International Convention held this year in MCI, with several hundred vendors, probably at least 20 of which sell or trade safety cards.

This may surprise some people but!

I have A Safety Card from a WN plane that still has the 737-200 on it.

Neither for me. I usually get them from employees of said airlines.

I also have a Song 757 safety card, but I don't know where it is or even if it will be worth anything?

    Re: Safety Cards

    Oh happy day.

I was able to obtain not only a few NW DC-9 cards, but I also got the A320 and A320SR.

Honestly, I got a little TOO excited about it. WOOHOO!
