    Airport 75 trivia

In the scene where Murdoch and Petroni de-board their Lear 21 (?) in Salt Lake City there are some DC-8's in the background. They're white bodied with two tone blue cheat lines. The titles are a bit blurry but I believe they read "Air Caledone". I couldn't find anything related to them on the net. Does anyone know if Air Caledone was a legit airline or were they Eastern's with patched on titles?

I don't recall the titles but they where in an EA scheme for sure, probably stored at SLC, as the early-mid 70's is when EA retired many of their DC-8's. I have not seen this great movie in many, many years.

Not to be nit picky but there is no Lear 21. There is however a Lear 23/24 which is pretty much seperated by what kind of fuel system and autopilot it has.

Looks like UPS is trying to sell it, and it's been in storage at Roswell, NM since 2005 according to Airfleets.net. Just Google the reg.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
