    Nice shots Eric!

Hadn't planned on going out - was supposed to get together with a friend, (who ended up sick) and by the time I realized JFK had switched to Rwy 31, I figured it was too late. Then I remembered - Daylight Saving Time! I had an extra hour for spotting!

I got to Firestone around 4:30, and got a bunch:

After about 45 minutes, they switched back to 4 L/R, with southwesterly departures on 31L. Headed over to Howard Beach for a while, but the light was just about gone by then. Did get to meet a couple of other local guys doing some spotting. They've heard about us, but hadn't really checked the site. We spent more time talking about local spotting locations then actually shooting. I saw this tail across the way, and couldn't figure out who it is. It's obviously a DC-10/MD-11, with what looks like a pelican logo. Anybody recognize it?

And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Thanks, Eric. I haven't seen that before. Is she a regular at JFK?

Yes, it's a regular. I'm not sure what its schedule is, but it's a tough one to get during the day.

I actually just watched it depart on 31L at about 7:20am.

I see they STILL are not showing up on the trackers.

I think it was my last shot before I went to FL.

The only time I have seen them depart is on Sunday Mornings.

Good shots guys, I'm going to be away from spotting for a bit this month since I'll be in Canada most of March with the exception of this week. After this week I won't be back until April.

Great - guess that means I'll have to get up early on a Sunday if I want to catch this one...

BTW, the Evergreen Supertanker 747 was over in the cargo area, no good spots to get a shot. Does she fly in & out on some sort of schedule, or is it just hit or miss? I'd love to get a shot of her.
