    I'm published again!

Still not an aviation subject, but I have another picture in print. Island Publications, a division of Newsday, produces the Long Island Travel Guide, which is used by the NYS and the LI Convention and Visitors Bureau as their offical guide to LI. Since it's a Newsday product, and I work here, I don't get paid, but I do get a photo credit.

My holiday picture of the Big Duck is in the 2007 edition, which we just received from the printer on Friday:

Also, I was asked to shoot some photos of a plastic model tank built by one of the guys in my model club - the Long Island Scale Model Society. He wrote an article for the IPMS/USA Journal, the publication of the national model society, but doesn't have a camera that will give him good enough photos for publication, so I got the call.

I won't get paid for this one either, as the IPMS is an all-volunteer group, and the materials in the Journal are all submitted by the members. It was a good opportunity to try some new techniques, playing with the tripod, different lenses and lighting.

BTW, I run my club website at http://longislandscalemodel.tripod.com

Good job Moose. When we start getting paid that's when it doesn't become our pasion and hobby. Well at least that's what I tell myself :D

Good job, Moose. What kind of lens did you use for the tank?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Thanks, I was playing with a couple of different lenses. Primarily used the Canon 28-200mm, but also took some with the 70-200mm L.
