Do any of you know any good places to spot at IND and MCO?

nwa FOREVER!
Matt,
I'd say PM Senga, Justin Idle, or Joey Collura for help on MCO.
Ok, I will probably do that, thanks.

I'm still learning the area myself! :)

I got back from IND last friday. You can get decent shots from the terminal past security. Also parking garage looked good for pictures of arriving airplanes. Right now I wouldn't recommend spotting at the parking garage. I was smoking there for 2 minutes and almost lost my hand and nose :)

You bet, Moose. Nothing quite like waking up in the morning last week and seeing this on weather.com:Originally Posted by moose135

Well, this will be for April, so that shouldn't be a problem! lol.
What focal length do you think you will need for both sites?

Waking up in the morning? All week while in Indianapolis I had to wake up at 4 or 5am. I took 30 minutes to warm up the car :)
But back to spotting at IND. If you have digital SLR with 300mm you'll be fine. I think minimum of 300mm (non digital focal lenght) is good for East side and little more for West side.

About IND...when I lived in the Chicago area (6 years) I took several trips down IND to get shots of the planes. Neither airport has places to shoot at if you don't have car. IND had 2 viewing parks but one was shut down after 9-11. I dont know about the other one though. IND is easy to take pix at. Lots of places along the runways and stuff.
I have lots of shots from 1998-2001 but not many uploaded though.
Heres a few shots from some of the trips I made. IND was a great airport as you never knew what would show up.
