You are correct about the charter gig and stuff but than again history JetBlue usually has a history of running charters to cities to get a feel shortly before opening a station

jetBlue's run charters from FRG in the past. They are certainly not going to setup shop at FRG. Sounds to me like someone low on the pole at B6 heard they went to SXM got all excited and decided that they will soon be flying to SXM and told the world. Not saying SXM won't be on B6's list of future cities but I think you'll see more Mexican cities first.

Side note, North American is flying weekly charters to SXM for a vacation company.
