    Early morning at KSAN

Now here's an airport I haven't seen on this site. :)

I had been in San Diego last week with my high school marching band. We played in the Holiday Bowl at Qualcomm. Unfortunetly, I wasn't able to head out on my own to do some spotting, but I got a few nice snaps from inside the terminal before we left. KSAN seems like a great place to spot at. I hope to go back some day. :)

This was on Saturday morning, the 30th at 6:45am or so.

I'm dissapointed that the Delta tail got cut off. Didn't notice that 'til I got back. That CO 738 was my steed back to KEWR. :)

Just the one for now.. bedtime.

    Happy new year, all.

I've been to San Diego a few times in the past year and am a big fan of the city. I was recently TDY to San Diego and stayed in the building that you see behind the America West tail (or at least one of the buildings next to it, they all look the same). That's the Marine Corps Recruiting Base, San Diego. My room overlooked the airport, and the main runway they use out there runs parallel to that fence you see; pretty much right next to the base. Needless to say, the view was very nice, but it wasn't so nice being woken up at 5:30 or 6 AM when the planes started taking off about every two minutes!

KSAN is a fun approach to fly...... First timers are always alarmed
