    That's nuts.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Did any of you happen to look up this BBJ? It's the BBJ2 with the new United-like livery (and gaudy interior) registered in the US but based out of Luton in the UK, used to be N737SP. Whenever I see these things I want to know who is the real owner, but it's apparently somewhat of a secret, it's operated by a company called Eagle International Est. (EIE) for which there is no info online and there is visible in some of the photos a coat of arms next to the door. Anyway, a very nice ride for whoever the lucky owner is! Apparently available for charter too...

Nonstop2AUH just curious where did you here about or see this "gaudy" interior on N737M? I was extremely fortunate to get to go aboard this incredible aircraft while it underwent unscheduled maintenance at LGA. Everyone has their own taste but the last thing I saw was "gaudy". soft colors, beautiful woods, plush carpets, everything top shelf. As you could imagine interior photos where not permitted but I did get this exterior shot inside the United Hangar.

While nothing specific was shared with me I got the impression the owner was an individual, and when repairs where complete the owner limo-ed out from Manhattan and they departed for their base at London Luton.

    Regards

LGA777- Well, taste is subjective, but there is an interior pic online:

Looks like alot of green leather and gold trim. Nothing wrong with it, but probably not what most people here would choose, reminded me very much of the decor favored in the Middle East where I used to live, which would be considered gaudy by mainstream US tastes. When I saw that interior I was quite sure the owner must be an Arab (since it looks like the lounge at a 5* Abu Dhabi hotel), but there is an English-style coat of arms next to the door which one can see here:

Nonstop2AUH, I am so glad you posted that photo which I had never seen before, I am guessing in the 10 months between the interior photo and my visit a "major makeover" occurred on the interior. My view was of the same fwd cabin, the only thing that looks familiar are the solid green seats, not the couches with all the trim or the ugly carpet for sure. I am not sure if this is a one owner aircraft or if the current one is the second as it has had two different registrations. although one paint scheme. Regardless I saw something different, and I could not agree more, very "G A U D Y" !!! Again thanks for posting the interior photo.

    Cheers

LGA- Interesting, perhaps a Middle East owner sold it to a westerner with different taste, or the same owners just decided to go with a more mainstream look for the western market as apparently it does get some VIP sort of charters (one of the pics I saw says it carried Bernie Ecclestone, the guy who runs F1 racing, and another mentioned a film crew).

I know Harrod's owns an FBO at Luton, and also operates some sort of charter service, I am wondering if this could be their plane as it's an old-school English institution but is owned by Mr. Al-Fayed whose tastes would likely be consistent with the interior shown in the pic. That would still leave me wondering why the US registration and coat of arms though.

All of the above said, anyone who gets a look inside one of these things is extremely lucky!
