Just watched the Intrepid sail down the hudson

It was being pulled backward and very slowly.

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

I haven't heard anything about this in the media, although I know this was supposed to be the best day this month for the tides.

    Anyone else hear anything?

Yes it was all over the news before, MSNBC had a video feed. It was successfully moved.

Dang, I missed it. Anyone know when they're moving the Concorde? I have a great angle to shoot it from.

I saw video from a few diffrent angles at work today abc was running that showed it being moved. They sped it up to like 30 times faster to show it but it loos like they had to shove it sideways at one point into the dock to get her free from the footage

heard that the backward pull was to let the Intrepid take a bow to her former home on the way to Bayonne.

Well, I could not get the day off so here's some shots from FAR AWAY, but it was pretty cool to see anyway.

Intrepid is going to Bayonne for the more significant work on the carreir itself, then it'll have a brief stint in Staten Island for some more work before going to back to Manhattan... years from now.. Wonder where Fleet Week will take place exactly in 2007,

    Tom

if you clone out the tugboats in tom's first picture then it would look like the intrepid were steaming on it's own. pretty cool, can't wait 'till they finish the repairs and renovations...

Tom I don't know what's better, your plane pics or ship pics. I also did not know about shipspotting.com either! I've always been a fan of ships, merchant and military.
