Veterans Day at the Airpower Museum (lot-o-pics!)

As I mentioned Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend the Veterans Day ceremonies at the American Airpower Museum, where they saluted the Tuskegee Airmen, six of whom live in Nassau County.

Our friends from Brookhaven brought in a couple of warbirds:

These ladies were part of a choir from the Diocese of Rockville Center

There were veterans of WW2, Korea, Vietnam, and both Gulf wars present

Lt. Col. Lee Archer, the only confirmed ace from the Tuskegee Airmen, shot down 5 German Me-109s:

Dr. Roscoe Brown, Jr., former president of Bronx Community College, he shot down a German Me-262 jet fighter while flying the P-51:

It was quite a day, a fitting tribute to these brave men.

Every year members from the Tuskegee Airmen come out here and talk with us and share some of their stories with us. These are truly inspiring men, who faced a tremendous amount of adversity and overcame it with class and dignity. Great shots of the day's festivities Moose!
