    LGA Kids Day ?

I just read about LGA Kids Day. Was this event opened to the public? I never heard of it before. It wasn't covered by the media. Is it held annually? Are cameras permitted? Where can I read more about this?

    Next Year ?

By media, I meant the NY Daily News or local TV stations. I was at fault for not checking but I do have an excuse: I have no PC. The news media covered David Wright's getting a logo on Delta. It was in the newspapers and on local TV news but LGA Kids Day I never saw. Will it be held next year? I will try to remember. Thanks

We also covered the David Wright Event. See...we're even better than The Daily News!

    Great Sit !

You're right. This is a very comprehensive site and I've been neglecting checking-in often. What's great is that my postings get almost immediate responses. On most other sites, I post questions and get no responses or get only sarcastic responses. I've been pre-occupied for 2 months trying to learn about my new cellphone. I still cannot download stuff into it.

    Please Remind Me!

Hi Phil: Please send me a reminder about Kids Day next year in case I forget. As a senior, my memory isn't what it used to be. I'm sorry I missed it. I don't have a car so I couldn't come to the picnic held a few weeks ago and I live in Brooklyn. I would have certainly come to Kids Day. Was it held on Sept 30? Can cameras come too? Kennedy Airport used to have an open house too but not anymore. Best Regards, Myron (Speedbird1)

    Myron,

Kids Day is at LGA every year (weather permitting). It's open to the public and you are most certainly allowed to bring cameras.

It's not publicized in the media outside of here because I assume they don't want the event to be over-swamped with people, and they can only accommodate so many.

Hope to see you next year!

    See You at Kids Day

Yes, I plan to go. I want to finally meet you guys; although it sounds very crowded. I wish it was held only for our group of plane enthusiasts; that would be ideal. I can easily get to LGA by train and bus. I am curious why JFK doesn't hold any kind of open-house anymore. If the Port Authority is agreeable to LGA, why not JFK? I just suggested it on the jfktower website. Regards, Myron

Well it's not just an airport open house. It's an event set up with Kiwanis Club so that underpriviledged children that otherwise can't afford to fly can get to enjoy boarding an airplane.

So, having one at JFK would be redundant probably.

    Open House

True but JFK could find another worthy organization I'm sure, such as Children of Firefighters and Officers Lost on 9-11, etc.
