KLM to introduce 3rd JFK flight, 641/642 Change + EWR Info

Not quiet sure when it starts, I believe for the begginning of the summer season, but KLM will be starting their third JFK flight which is scheduled to be an MD-11 but might change over to the A330-200.

    KL645 AMS JFK 1015 1230
    KL646 JFK AMS 1610 0600

Wish this flight was starting sooner, it looks like I'll be flying KLM to MAD via AMS this Thanksgiving and the timing of these flights is perfect!

Once the EWR-AMS flight switches back to KLM from Northwest it is also scheduled to be an MD-11 for a little while, so if you only want to wait until March you can do one from there.

This is a little correction from the info on the news calendar.

Northwest will take over EWR-AMS-EWR on November 26th, not on November 1st.

The A330-300 will operate the route until March when KLM will take over again and fly MD-11's on the route and then apparently Northwest might take over with a daily 757-200 flight for the summer.

I might actually be flying on the first Northwest A330-300 flight into EWR on November 26th.

Wow, talk about service inconsistency. I am sure the back of the house folks won't mind if the fare is right, but for the many business travelers on the EWR to AMS route this is like Forest Gump's box of chocolates. One day it's a state of the art A330 with fancy PTVs and new World Business seats, then it's an MD-11 with '90s-style onboard product, then it's a 757 with '80s style onboard product that was probably last seen running the MSP to LAS shuttle. I know many don't care but if I was paying the big bucks to sit up front, I'd much prefer the former to the latter...
